Welcome !

on the official web site of Samarytanskie Towarzystwo im. Jana Pawla II /the John Paul the 2nd Samaritan Association/ in Zakliczyn. We are a lay non-government organisation that has been operating since 1993. Our main statutory target is to aid the other people, especially the old, disabled people, children from poor and pathological families, victims of natural calamities, unemployed. We cover with our activities the territory of Poland, however, we help mostly the local community of malopolska commune of Zakliczyn and neighbouring communes.
Zakliczyn is a communal village that is located in the beautiful valley of the Dunajec River surrounded by the wooden hills on a flat wide area subordinate – in geographical terms - to macroregion of Pogórze Karpackie /Karpackie Foodhills/. It is a tourist location of rich history, inhabited by hospitable and kind-hearted people. There are agricultural-tourist farms in the Zakliczyn commune that offer recreation and accommodation.

Charming landscape, clean air and tranquillity that is so needed to the artists put a spell on the most prominent Polish composer of the classic music – Krzysztof Penderecki who is the owner of the 17th century manor house including the surrounding beautiful park in the near Luslawice. In the year 2003, Elzbieta and Krzysztof Penderecki plan to start the construction of the European Centre of Music, Ballet and Sports in Luslawice.
John Paul the 2nd Samaritan Association in Zakliczyn realises its mission by way of the following:
• Running base old people's home for the ones suffering from chronic somatic diseases - "Dom Pogodnej Jesieni" /Fine Autumn Home/

• Carrying out humanitarian actions during the time of natural calamities;

• Nutrition of children from pathological and poor families;
• Hiring - free of charge - rehabilitation equipment;
• Taking actions in the field
of active forms of fighting the unemployment.
Since 1997, the Samaritan Association has been co-operating with the German non-government organisation Arbeiter Samariter Bund Deutschland e.v. from Cologne which takes the form of interchange of information and experience, and most of all common carrying out the aid and structural projects.
The Samaritan Association in connection with the integration of Poland with the European Union will start the initiatives aimed at making its activities professional and aimed at the co-operation with everyone who acts for the benefit of the ones who need, no matter what are their political views and beliefs.
In the coming years the Association intends to develop the old people’s home run by it. The planned investment will make it possible to improve the present
conditions of living, increase the number of beds as well as it will make it possible to create a dozen or so new work places for the unemployed. The
foreseen cost of the investment is about EUR 500,000.00. It is a great
challenge for us. However, we are aware that without the aid of other people we are not able to realise it. Thus, we would like to ask every one for the property-related and financial help for that purpose.

We would like all the people interested in our activity who are willing to establish co-operation to get in touch with us. Our contact:
